Step by Step
You will start your adventure at the Plaza de España, next to the Parador de Ronda, where your guide will welcome you and introduce you to the fascinating history of this town nestled in a gorge. Here you will receive a brief explanation of the Moorish and Christian evolution of Ronda.
You will then ascend to the New Bridge, built at the end of the 18th century, which links the old city with the modern quarter. As you cross its 98-metre-high bridge, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Tagus and the valley, and learn about the legends of its mines and ancient banditry.
The tour continues through the Moorish quarter of the old town, where the cobbled streets lead you to the Church of Santa María la Mayor and the Town Hall, both built on the site of old mosques. Your guide will share interesting facts about Mudejar architecture and daily life in medieval Ronda.
You will then descend to the bullring of the Plaza de Toros de Ronda, one of the oldest bullrings in Spain. Although the entrance to the bullring and the museum is not included, you will be able to admire its imposing façade and learn about the myths and protagonists of the "tienta" and the evolution of bullfighting in this land.
Finally, the group will return quietly to the Plaza de España, closing the tour with recommendations of restaurants, viewpoints and visiting hours for those who wish to continue exploring on their own.
