Every autumn, Groot-Bijgaarden Castle becomes the epicentre of autumn fantasy with Pumpkinkimania, a spectacular exhibition dedicated to pumpkin art. This year, the event pays homage to the Roman Empire, combining history, creativity and family atmosphere.

Stroll through the castle gardens and see impressive pumpkin sculptures depicting gladiators, Roman columns and historical figures such as Julius Caesar, all crafted in stunning detail. The thousands of pumpkins scattered throughout the park create a magical and colourful environment that celebrates autumn in all its glory.

In addition to the exhibits, you can participate in fun family activities and special events throughout the season:

  • Giant Pumpkin Weigh-In event (Saturday 20 September).
  • Giant Pumpkin Slaughter (Sunday 2 November).
  • Pumpkin boat ride (every Saturday and Sunday).
  • Carve your own pumpkin (Saturdays and Sundays).
  • Halloween event (from 25 October).

The experience is rounded off by the Pumpkinmania kitchen, where you can sample pumpkin specialities such as spicy pumpkin soup, pumpkin and chestnut fries, Pumpkipanini and the amazing pumpkin falafel.

Pumpkinimania is not just an exhibition: it is a celebration of autumn and creativity, perfect for families, couples and photography lovers looking for a unique experience in a fairytale setting.

A fantastic autumn plan. Not so "scary", but with a lot of visual elegance.

Some of the sculptures showed wear and tear from the weather, but it doesn't detract from the charm. Going early is better.

We walked for hours among glowing pumpkins. I didn't expect such artistic diversity.

Ambient music accompanies without being intrusive. Good balance between visual and auditory.
