Step by Step
This 6-hour tour starts with your pick-up in Manaus directly from your hotel reception. You will transfer to the port to board a double-decker boat that will take you down the Negro River to the famous meeting point of the waters, a natural phenomenon where the dark currents of the Negro and the crystal-clear Amazon flow side by side without mingling for several kilometres.
Your local guide will explain the history and culture of the riverside villages, their traditions and the typical flora and fauna of the region. Keep your eyes open for grey and pink river dolphins, one of the Amazon's most charismatic species.
Next, you'll disembark at the Januário Ecological Park, where you'll take a 20-minute walk along the elevated trail (dry season only) to see the jungle in all its splendour. Afterwards, you'll board a motorised canoe to navigate the narrow channels of the Solimões River and marvel at the giant Victoria Regia water lilies, as well as the local fauna and traditional caboclo houses.
The finishing touch comes with lunch at a floating restaurant, where you can savour Amazonian dishes while gazing out over the river. Before returning to Manaus, you will have the opportunity to visit a floating handicraft shop, ideal for an authentic souvenir of your adventure.
