Step by Step
This air-conditioned bus tour lasts approximately three and a half hours and includes an optional pick-up from your hotel in central Montreal. Once you have made your booking, you will be asked for the name of the hotel where you are staying to confirm the pick-up. During the tour, an expert bilingual guide will explain the history of the Canadian city and its main attractions. The bus will pass by the following points, amongst others:
- Vieux-Port – A sheltered area on the St Lawrence River. Here you’ll find the large Ferris wheel and the science museum
- Basilique Notre-Dame – Built in the early 19th century in the Neo-Gothic style, it is renowned for the beauty of its interior, particularly the blue-painted ceiling
- Parc Olympique – The area built for the 1976 Olympic Games. Among the most famous buildings, it is impossible not to mention the Montreal Tower (the world’s tallest leaning tower), the Botanical Gardens and the Olympic Stadium
- Parc du Mont Royal – This vast green space was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York’s Central Park. Within it lies the Oratoire Saint-Joseph, a grand basilica with Art Deco interiors
- Marché Bonsecours – Formerly the main farmers’ market, it is now a luxury shopping centre. From the outside, it is recognisable by its large dome
- Place Jacques-Cartier – Known for its numerous bars and restaurants, as well as for Nelson’s Column, dedicated to the admiral of the Battle of Trafalgar
- Place Ville-Marie – A modern square and the epicentre of Montreal’s cultural life. The former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Canada houses a viewing platform offering a 360° panorama
- Chinatown – The district that encompasses the Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese communities. The entrance features a distinctive red gate decorated with Chinese characters
If your hotel is not included in the pick-up area – or if you fancy a stroll – you can meet the group at Dorchester Square. The exact address is provided when you make your booking. Although it’s not a long walk, we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.
