Vancouver Aquarium Tickets

The Vancouver Aquarium is the largest and most important in Canada. It is an ideal destination for those travelling with children, who have the opportunity to see some marine animals up close and interact with them. The attraction is divided into different areas, and the following list summarises the most popular ones:

• Penguin Point – Cape penguins live on the South African coast, and one of their favourite beaches is Boulders Beach, just a few kilometres from the capital. This area recreates their natural habitat and allows visitors to admire them at close quarters. They are recognisable by the black ‘mask’ that covers almost their entire face
• Steller’s Bay – Home to the sea lions. They have a stocky build, chestnut-coloured fur verging on reddish, and a distinctive mane. They love to lie on the rocks to rest, with the water lapping at them
• Canada’s Arctic – What are the consequences of the ice melting? This section explores the effects of global warming on the Arctic
• Graham Amazon Gallery – A little slice of rainforest in the heart of Vancouver. Not only are there animals that live in the rivers of the Amazon, but also species such as sloths and ibises
• Wet Lab – Where little ones can touch some invertebrates with their own hands: sea anemones, prawns, sea urchins, etc. The area is open at weekends only.
• 4D cinema experience – Immerse yourself in immersive short films that change with the seasons, featuring motion effects, vibrations, sounds and even scents that take the screening far beyond the screen.

The aquarium is a short distance from Stanley Park and is easily accessible either on foot (it’s just a 20-minute walk from the city centre) or by bus (route 19).
