Step by Step

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel lobby (inside the third ring road). An air-conditioned vehicle will take you first to the Temple of Heaven, where you will admire the enclosure where emperors prayed for good harvests. If you visit on a Monday, you will instead see Beihai Park, equally rich in history and scenery.

You will then descend into the heart of the ancient city: the Beijing Hutongs. You will ride a rickshaw to explore lively alleys and, if you wish, visit a local family to get a glimpse into the daily life of the ancient Beijingers. Your guide will recommend the best places for free lunch, with authentic options by Houhai Lake.

After the break, the tour continues to the Lama Temple (Yonghegong), the largest and best preserved lamasery in China. You will discover its origin as a royal residence and admire its colourful Buddhist statues and carved halls.

In the second half of the day you will travel to the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan). Situated next to Kunming Lake and the Wanshou Hills, you will explore its imperial gardens, take an optional boat ride and see structures such as the Buddha Fragrance Pavilion and the Long Corridor.

Finally, you'll return to your hotel with the peace of mind of having seen the most iconic sights of Beijing in a single day, unhurriedly, with priority access and the accompaniment of an expert guide.
