Step by Step

Embark on a journey that begins at the Mémorial de Caen, the most comprehensive museum on the 20th century in France. With your ticket, you'll have free access to the permanent exhibitions, which chronicle the end of World War I to the fall of the Berlin Wall, with a special focus on the planning and conduct of D-Day on both sides of the conflict.

D-Day occupies an entire section of the museum: display cases with uniforms, weapons, original documents and audio-visual testimonies allow you to understand the magnitude of the operation. In addition, the Memorial is the only regional museum of the police and armed forces that operates without public support, which guarantees an independent collection and a passion for preserving memory.

At 1pm, your bilingual guide (French and English) will pick you up in a 7-seater air-conditioned minivan. For about 5 hours, you will visit the most emblematic sites of the Allied invasion of Normandy.

You will visit Pointe du Hoc, the cliffs stormed by the American Rangers; Omaha Beach, where you will feel the grandeur and sacrifice of that landing; and the American Military Cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, with its thousands of white crosses on the cliffs. Each stop includes detailed explanations from your guide and time for photos and reflection.

One of the great advantages of this package is the flexibility: you can visit the museum the same day of the tour or the next day, as your ticket will be active 24 hours from the first access. This means you can spend as much time as you like looking at the rooms you are most interested in, before or after the tour of the real-life D-Day scenarios.
