Step by Step

The adventure starts in Saint-Émilion, where your guide shares a brief safety briefing, fits a helmet and e-bike, and goes over the itinerary: a circuit of about 20 km between red clay hills and vine-dotted horizons. The first stage takes you to a family château, whose old barrels flank the terrace where you'll taste Rosso de Saint-Émilion, with hints of cherry and spice, while learning about the geology of the terroir.

You continue cycling, alternating between olive trees and dry stone walls, to a natural viewpoint where you stop to gaze at the medieval bell tower and socialise with other cyclists. From there, the descent takes you to the second, larger and more monumental château, where a visit to the ageing rooms gives way to a tasting of Brunello d'auteur, structured and with floral nuances. The guide explains the differences between the two vintages and the best way to serve them in the glass.

At midday, the group settles under a bower of vines for a French-style picnic: artisan bread, local cheese, cured meats, seasonal salad and, of course, more local wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and, after a rest, you get back on your e-bike to ride through the medieval town centre of Saint-Émilion, with its cobbled streets and crossroads, before returning to the starting point.
