Step by Step
Immerse yourself in the exciting and turbulent history of Berlin on this Free Tour that will take you through the main historical sites of the city centre. You'll start at the majestic Pariser Platz, where you'll pass through the iconic Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of German unity and freedom.
The tour continues to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a striking space of reflection dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. Nearby, you will visit the location of the Führerbunker, the underground shelter where Adolf Hitler spent his last days.
The tour continues to the Ministry of the Air Force of the Third Reich, a testimony to the architecture and military history of the Second World War. Afterwards, you will approach one of the still-preserved sections of the Berlin Wall, recalling the dark years of the city's division.
A stop at the famous Checkpoint Charlie, the former border between East and West Berlin during the Cold War, is a must. You will continue to the elegant Gendarmenmarkt, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, and finally, you will arrive at Bebelplatz, sadly known for the book burning organised by the Nazi regime.
How does a free tour work?
