Step by Step

Start the day with a pick-up in Eilat. You will travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to the Arava border, where your guide will assist you with passport and visa formalities (fees not included). Please note that crossing times may vary depending on the flow of travellers.

Once in Jordan, you will continue your journey on desert roads overlooking Mount Haroun (the traditional Tomb of Aaron). Upon arrival in Petra, you will have the option (for a fee) to approach on horseback (about 198m) through the narrow gorge that leads to the Siq, the entrance passageway filled with Nabataean reliefs and sculptures.

Upon arrival inside the city, you will start a 3-4 hour guided tour visiting the most emblematic monuments: the Treasury, the Obelisk Tomb, the Palace of Sacrifice, the Roman Theatre and the Royal Tombs carved into the rock. You will learn how this "lost city" remained hidden for centuries in the heart of the desert.

After the visit, you will enjoy lunch, with traditional Jordanian dishes, and free time to explore at your leisure and take pictures before rejoining the group. Time permitting, you'll make brief stops at viewpoints over Wadi Rum and at the bustling port of Aqaba.

Return across the border again, arriving in Eilat in the afternoon. A day full of history, culture and exceptional scenery.
