Although tickets for Gardaland traditionally did not include guided tours, as the park is designed for you to explore the attractions at your own pace, the park has expanded its offering with exclusive options. Now, you can enjoy VIP experiences that include personalised guided tours lasting 3 hours or a full day, depending on the pass you choose. With these tickets, you’re guaranteed to meet Prezzemolo, the park’s mascot, and explore the attractions in a privileged way, without queues, amongst other benefits.

Why is it worth buying tickets online rather than at the ticket office?

Buying tickets for Gardaland online offers several advantages:

  • Firstly, you save time by avoiding the long queues at the ticket office, especially during the busiest months, such as June, July and August.
  • You can often find exclusive discounts on the website that aren’t available at the Gardaland ticket office.
  • It allows you to make the most of your time in the park. At Gardaland, you can see the waiting times for attractions in real time by using The official Gardaland Resort App. With this app, you’ll also receive a reminder of your turn at each attraction you’ve queued for, as well as being able to locate shops, restaurants and other areas of the park using GPS.
  • And most importantly, you secure your entry, as capacity is limited. On busy days, tickets may sell out quickly.

Gardaland opening hours

Areas of Gardaland|©dundidu

Gardaland usually opens at 10:00 am, and closing times vary by season, ranging from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

During the summer, at weekends and for special events such as Halloween or Christmas, the park extends its opening hours to offer visitors a longer experience. I recommend checking the official calendar before your visit to confirm the exact opening times.

Carla's Tip

Gardaland’s opening hours do not always coincide with those of the resort’s other attractions, such as LEGOLAND or the Sea Life aquarium. Check the official calendar before planning an activity.

To fully enjoy Gardaland, ideally you should set aside at least a full day. The park has a wide variety of attractions, shows and themed areas, so you’ll need between 8 and 10 hours to explore everything it has to offer. If you also wish to visit the Sea Life aquarium or LEGOLAND, consider adding a few extra hours to your itinerary.

Best time to visit Gardaland

Gardaland Magic Winter|©corsa292
Gardaland Magic Winter|©corsa292

The best time to visit Gardaland depends very much on your preferences and what you’re looking for from your visit. Here are some factors to consider:

  • Weather: if you’re looking to enjoy the water rides and warm temperatures, the summer months (July and August) are ideal. However, bear in mind that this is the peak season, so you’ll find more people and queues may be longer.
  • Visitor numbers: for those who prefer to avoid the crowds, I recommend visiting Gardaland in spring (May and June) or autumn (September and October). During these times, the weather is usually pleasant and you’ll find fewer people.
  • Special events: Gardaland organises themed events throughout the year, such as Gardaland Magic Halloween. You can also add it to your list of things to do in Verona at Christmas, as in December the park is decked out to celebrate New Year and Christmas.

Specifically, if you’re looking for warmth and water-based fun: plan your visit to the park as one of the
things to do in Verona in summer; it’ll be the best time to go. On the other hand, if you prefer fewer people and a quieter atmosphere: spring or autumn are the seasons for you.

Gardaland is one of the eleven best amusement parks in Europe, so it’s no surprise it has excellent transport links. Located at Via Derna, 4, Castelnuovo del Garda, Verona, you can reach the resort’s gates:

  • By bus: routes 162–165 connect Verona Porta Nuova railway station directly with Gardaland. The journey takes about 45 minutes and the bus will drop you off at the park entrance. There are also free shuttle buses from Peschiera del Garda railway station.
  • By car: from Milan or Venice, take the A4 motorway and exit at Peschiera del Garda. From Modena or Brennero, take the A22 and then continue onto the A4, exiting at either Peschiera del Garda or Sommacampagna.
  • By train and shuttle: you can travel by train to Peschiera del Garda station, which is just 2 km from the park. From there, a free shuttle bus will take you directly to Gardaland on days when the park is open.

Gardaland offers a wide variety of attractions for all ages. However, there are some that stand out and are considered must-sees:

  • Rollercoasters: Raptor, Shaman and Oblivion are some of the most thrilling rollercoasters in Europe.
  • Jumanji The Adventure: the authentic Jumanji experience is available at Gardaland Resort with the Jumanji maze and Jumanji The Adventure. And if that’s not enough, you can immerse the little ones in this world with themed rooms and other surprises to round off the adventure.
  • Peppa Pig Land: especially if you’re travelling with young children, this area features several attractions based on the animated series and, with a bit of luck, you might even get a photo with Peppa.
  • Kung Fu Panda Academy: a themed area dedicated to the famous film, where little ones can learn the secrets of Kung Fu.

Tips for visiting Gardaland

  • Buy tickets in advance: avoid the queues at the ticket office and take advantage of online offers.
  • Check out the “Time Savers”: if you’re visiting Venice, the Dolomites or Verona in just two days and have popped over to Gardaland, your time is likely to be limited. In that case, you can buy the supplement to skip the queues at the attractions, known as Fast Track or Time Savers, which allow you to avoid long waits at the most popular rides.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes: it’s a proven fact that dressing for the occasion is one of the most important tips for getting the most out of theme parks. We sometimes underestimate it, but it’s been shown that you walk at least 20,000 steps – or, to put it another way, around 14 kilometres – on every visit, so make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes, sunglasses, and bring a change of clothes if you’re taking the kids to LEGOLAND Aquapark.
  • Download the official Gardalandapp – it will be very useful for checking show times, attraction queuing times and finding the facilities you need.
  • Plan your visit: before you go, make a list of the attractions you want to visit to make the most of your time.

We left with the desire to repeat: the children are already asking when we'll be back. Some rides were closed for maintenance, but it wasn't serious.

Festive atmosphere, good music, great park. I recommend trying the illuminated roller coaster. Only the cloakroom had a small capacity.

The shows were well timed, the artificial snow added a magical touch. However, some attractions closed earlier than scheduled.
