Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni Day Trip from Florence

Make the most of your stay in Italy and join this day trip to Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni from Florence. To make you feel even more immersed in Tuscany and its charms, you can stroll through the beautiful Piazza de Campo in Siena and have a gelato in the village of San Gimignano.

Departing from Piazzale Montelungo we will set off for our destination, the region of Tuscany . It is one of the most visited and well-known regions of Italy and is characterised by its wonderful landscapes and wine-growing importance, as well as its beautiful towns and villages.

The first stop will be the charming San Gimignano, a well-preserved medieval village, where you will have free time to stroll around and admire its medieval buildings.Known as "The City of a Thousand Towers", it is a World Heritage Site since 1990. We will have 2 hours free to stroll through its fascinating streets.

Not far from San Gimignano, we will find Monteriggioni, another medieval village surrounded by a practically intact wall, and which was key in the conflict between Siena and Florence during the Middle Ages. Due to conservation and maintenance works, access to the walls and the Templar Museum is not allowed, so this stop is only possible from April to October.

After a drive through the rolling hills of Chianti, a short drive will take you to a charming winery, where you can relax and delve into the wonderful world of Chianti. Enjoy a tasting of three excellent wines and a lunch typical of the region, consisting of three dishes made with local zero-kilometre products, culminating in the traditional cantucci e vin santo.

Finally, we will enter the dazzling city of Siena, known for its medieval buildings built in brick and for the peculiar square of its historic centre. In this city you can add two extra activities at the time of booking:

• A guided tour of the old town.
• A guided tour of the cathedral.

To get the most out of this experience, you can sit in Piazza de Campo, located in the historic centre of Siena. This is considered one of the best medieval squares in Europe. At the end of the visit, you will enjoy some free time to soak up the charm and the unique atmosphere of this wonderful city.

We will return to Florence to finish the tour at the same starting point, about 10,5 hours later.
