Assisi and Orvieto Day Trip from Rome

This one-day excursion will allow you to leave Rome and explore the towns of Assisi and Orvieto. Both are situated in Umbria, which is Italy’s most picturesque region, north of Rome. The distance from these towns to the capital is around 170 km, but you won’t need to worry about the distance as all transfers are included. The journey from Rome to the towns takes approximately one and a half hours.

These transfers will be in an air-conditioned coach to ensure a comfortable journey. During the journey, and whilst you’re exploring both towns, a tour guide will accompany you so you can learn all about the history of the monuments you come across. You’ll enjoy this lunch in the town of Orvieto, specifically by Lake Trasimeno. This lake offers stunning views and a very peaceful atmosphere. Furthermore, the town has a historic centre where you’ll visit its magnificent 14th-century Gothic cathedral.

This town is known for its patron saint, St Francis of Assisi, whose story you’ll learn about on this tour. The tour also includes an admission ticket to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where St Francis used to go to pray.
