Step by Step

Your adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel (in pre-defined areas in and around Valletta), where an air-conditioned car will take you to your first destination: the Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum. Here, archaeologists have unearthed remains of the island's earliest people and fossils of hippos and dwarf elephants that lived thousands of years ago.

After soaking up this early history, you'll travel to the southern tip of Malta to ascend to Ħaġar Qim, a megalithic temple complex built around 3,600 BC. Walk among the massive limestone blocks and contemplate reliefs that depicted fertility and lunar worship of their creators.

A few steps away await the temples of Mnajdra, even older in its central part. Their circular design and the hollows in the walls mark the solstices and equinoxes, aligning the sunlight with millimetric precision. Your guide will explain the astronomical and religious significance of these structures.

After absorbing the magic of these monuments, you will return comfortably to your hotel, with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day in Malta. This 4-hour tour is ideal for those who wish to combine culture, archaeology and spectacular scenery in one trip.
