Step by Step

Rotorua is a land of fire and water, sculpted by New Zealand's intense geothermal activity. On this half-day tour, you'll explore some of its most stunning lakes, from hidden gems to iconic destinations such as the Blue and Green Lakes, accompanied by a local guide with a passion for the region.

The tour starts with a pick-up from your central accommodation or from Rotorua's i-SITE, and takes you in comfort in a minivan through incredible scenery. You'll start at Hamurana Springs, where you'll hike through majestic redwoods and crystal clear waters. Then you'll visit Lake Rotoiti and continue to Okere Falls, where a light hike through native forests will allow you to see a waterfall that boasts the highest commercial rafting waterfall in the world.

You'll continue on to explore the natural colours of Blue Lake and Green Lake, situated side by side but with markedly different hues thanks to their unique mineral conditions. Finally, you will arrive at the breathtaking Lake Tarawera, with its namesake volcano rising majestically in the background, ideal for capturing unforgettable photos.

This tour perfectly combines soft adventure, nature, volcanic history and postcard-perfect views, making it an ideal experience for those seeking an authentic connection to the New Zealand landscape.
