This excursion to Ojców National Park and Pieskowa Skała Castle from Kraków is a comfortable and quick way to escape the urban hustle and bustle and connect with nature. After pick-up from your accommodation, you will travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the heart of the park, located on the Jurassic plateau between the Prądnik and Sąspówka rivers.
Once there, you will drive through some of the park's most characteristic landscapes, where erosion has created dramatic limestone cliffs, gorges and more than 400 caves. You will follow part of the famous Eagle's Nest Trail, the historic route linking ancient defensive castles. Among the most striking sights you will see the amazing rock formation known as Hercules' Club, one of the symbols of Ojców.
The highlight of the tour is a visit to Pieskowa Skała Castle, perched on a cliff and considered one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture in Poland. Built in the 14th century by King Casimir III, today it houses a branch of the Royal Wawel Castle. You can admire its spectacular location as well as its architecture and natural surroundings.
Before returning to Krakow, you will visit St. Joseph's Chapel, known as the "chapel on the water", and see the ruins of the Gothic Ojców Castle, another reminder of the area's defensive past. This is the perfect tour for those who are looking for a combination of scenery, history and tranquillity, without having to organise transfers and entrance fees on their own.
