Step by Step

Discover and learn all about the history of the ancient city of Kraków, in Poland, thanks to this completely private tour. Specifically, you’ll spend around 4 or 5 hours exploring the streets of the Old Town and the famous Jewish Quarter. You’ll be accompanied by a tour guide – but not just any guide, rather an accredited history expert – who will share their passion for history with you and your companions.

Kraków is a city with a wealth of stories to tell. Firstly, it was a medieval city, so walking through its Old Town is like being transported back in time. During your tour, you’ll explore the Old Town, as well as the famous Jewish quarter, the Kazimierz district. This neighbourhood was the centre of the Jewish community from the 14th century until the outbreak of the Second World War.

As a result, the city was one of the hardest hit by the war, which is why you’ll also hear many stories related to it throughout the tour.

The tour offers a choice of two options. The first, lasting around 4 hours, will take you around Kraków’s Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. The second and longer option, lasting around 5 hours, adds a visit to the Jewish ghetto to the itinerary.

I enjoyed being able to combine the Old Town with Kazimierz in a single visit and understand how both areas fit into the history of Kraków.

There’s a lot of walking involved, so it’s best to be prepared for it. We ended up tired, but happy with everything we’d seen.

The guide was respectful when dealing with the most difficult episodes in the city’s history. I thought it was a very well-organised tour.
