Step by Step

Poland suffered one of the most brutal occupations in Europe during World War II. This tour gives you an in-depth understanding of how Krakow became the epicentre of Nazi repression and, at the same time, of gestures of solidarity and resistance.

You will start at Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory, today the Krakow Historical Museum. Here you will discover the exhibition "Kraków under Nazi occupation 1939-1945", which shows everyday life under the German yoke: from the forced labour of the workers to Schindler's initiatives to save hundreds of Jews.

You will then walk along a section of the original ghetto wall and arrive at Ghetto Heroes' Square, where dozens of cast-iron chairs commemorate the horror of the deportation. In this same neighbourhood, you will learn about the mechanisms of control and dispossession imposed by the Nazis.

Afterwards, you will go to the Plaszów concentration camp, opened in 1940 as a forced labour camp and later expanded in 1942. You will walk through the ruins of the place where thousands of prisoners were exploited and murdered, and learn the stories of those who suffered and fought there.

This tour is much more than a sightseeing tour: it is a lesson in memory and humanity, narrated by a professional guide who will answer your questions and help you reflect on the lessons of that period.
