Would you like to enjoy a full day in the heart of the Tatra Mountains? This excursion, lasting around 11½ hours , will take you from your hotel in Kraków to the picturesque town of Zakopane, in southern Poland.

The local provider will contact you to find out which hotel you’d like to be picked up from. If, for mobility reasons, you cannot be picked up right outside your accommodation, the driver will contact you the day before the tour (around 8.00 pm) to suggest a nearby meeting point and confirm the exact time, which is usually between 8.00 am and 9.00 am.

You’ll travel in comfortable transport, stopping at places such as Chochołów, one of the most beautiful villages in the south of the country, with its traditional houses and an authentic taste of local life.

Once in Zakopane, your driver will give you the necessary tickets for the funicular, saving you time and helping you avoid queues. You’ll be able to take the funicular up to the summit of Mount Gubałówka, explore local life at your own pace on Krupowki Street in Zakopane and, of course, relax in the thermal pools at Chochołów, famous for their health benefits.

The trip includes on-board Wi-Fi, printed guidebooks in several languages and admission to both the Chocholow thermal pools and the Gubałówka funicular.

Step by Step

This day trip to Zakopane departs directly from your hotel or agreed meeting point in Krakow, so be prepared for the driver to pick you up at your chosen time.

The drive takes around two hours and will allow you to watch the Polish landscape gradually transform into a mountainous environment, until the majestic Tatra Mountains appear on the horizon.

Along the way, you will visit the charming village of Chochołów, famous for its old wooden houses and local residents who proudly preserve the traditions of the region. Also, before arriving in Zakopane, you will have the opportunity to taste the traditional smoked cheese "oscypek" in a "Bacówka" and learn about the handmade cheese-making process.

Once in Zakopane, your guide will show you how to use the funicular to Mount Gubałówka and give you the necessary tickets to make the best use of your time. You will also have free time to walk around the main street of Zakopane, always with the help of the multilingual brochures at your disposal.

To round off the day, nothing better than the Chocholów thermal baths. You will find countless outdoor and indoor pools, water slides and whirlpools to relax in at the end of the day.
