Fatima, Nazare, Obidos and Batalha Day Trip from Lisbon

On this full-day experience, you’ll visit the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Fátima. Despite being situated in a small Portuguese town, it is one of the most important, largest and most visited basilicas in the Christian world. It was on the site where this sanctuary now stands that the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. Today, millions of people flock here every year to visit this spectacular religious building and pray before the image of the Virgin.

You’ll also stroll through the streets of the coastal town of Nazaré, a fishing village brimming with restaurants and cafés where you can sample the typical delights of Portuguese cuisine. Here, too, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the sea if you make your way to the cliffs.

In Óbidos, you’ll enjoy a stroll through an authentic medieval town. Step back in time to the Middle Ages and visit its castle, built in the 12th century. It has now been recognised as one of the seven wonders of Portugal, so do make sure to explore within its walls.

You can also admire the marvellous Monastery of Batalha, a 14th-century religious building in the Manueline style. It is one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 .
