Visiting Livraria Lello is much more than just stepping into a bookshop. From the very first moment, its red staircase, the carved wood and the light streaming through the stained-glass windows transform the space into one of Porto’s most recognisable interiors.

During your visit, you can browse the shelves, discover Portuguese and international authors, and take in the architectural details that have made the building a true cultural landmark. The experience continues at the Livraria Lello Foundation, housed in the historic Mosteiro de Leça do Balio, a former site linked to the Knights Hospitaller. Today, the space hosts exhibitions, cultural projects and educational initiatives related to literature, art and knowledge.
