You should also check the departure points for the excursion and choose the most convenient one, as tours depart from different locations in Benidorm.

What will I see on this type of excursion?

Among the different things you can see on this type of excursion are views of natural landscapes, such as the Costa Blanca (on the Mediterranean Sea). You can also enjoy ancient architecture from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

You will also visit different museums, where you can learn about the culture of various Spanish villages. You will also be amazed by secret caves with crystal-clear waters and the possibility of snorkelling.

Tips for an excursion to the coves and caves of the Costa Blanca

After going on this type of excursion, I can give you the following tips:

  • Get physically prepared before the excursion, as some activities involve hiking, caving or coasteering. For example, the latter sport may include jumping off cliffs.
  • Practise swimming, as it is extremely important to know how to swim, even if you are wearing a life jacket.
  • Take some energy bars or snacks with you in case you get hungry along the way. And, of course, I advise you to take a bottle of water with you. Normally, the most complete meal on this type of excursion is eaten at the end or at a specific stop (not at any time).
  • Wear comfortable clothing, preferably beachwear (tracksuits, swimsuits or wetsuits, for example). However, you should know that some excursions include the suit and accessories for diving or snorkelling.

On the other hand, here are some tips for kayaking correctly.

How much does an excursion from Benidorm cost?

Normally, an excursion from Benidorm costs between €20 and €40, but you must add the cost of entrance fees to museums and other attractions to this price. Similarly, I recommend bringing extra money so that you can buy clothes, food, drinks or any souvenirs you like while you are out and about.

Which towns on the Costa Blanca should I not miss?

Albir Lighthouse|©rrnavero

First of all, if you are staying in Benidorm, you should not miss the neighbouring village of Villajoyosa, as it has traditional colourful houses and the Old Valor Chocolate Factory. I also recommend visiting El Albir, a town that is part of the municipality of Alfaz del Pi.

In addition, you can visit Calpe, Moraira or Dénia, which are several towns with important attractions. For example, visit Dénia Castle and Moraira Castle. There are many historical sites and beautiful views of the Mediterranean in some of these towns.

On the other hand, do not forget to visit Guadalest, which has interesting ancient monuments where you can take some photos. Similarly, you cannot miss a visit to Valencia, which is my favourite destination when I am staying in Benidorm. Valencia is approximately 1.5 hours from Benidorm.

What are the advantages of taking a guided tour vs visiting Benidorm on my own?

Cars in Benidorm|©amamolina
Cars in Benidorm|©amamolina

Check out these advantages and compare them:

  • Useful information about the site: If you take a guided tour, you will learn historical and cultural details about Benidorm, including information about archaeological sites. In other words, the guide will tell you the history of Benidorm's or the Costa Blanca's favourite sites. On the other hand, if you go on your own, you will have to research the information yourself.
  • Time management: Normally, with a guide you can visit more places in less time, depending on the tour you choose. On the other hand, when you go on your own, you may spend a little more time at each place and not have enough time to see the main attractions of Benidorm in one day.
  • Go at your own pace: This is an advantage of going on your own, as not all guided tours allow you to go at your own pace. For example, if you go on your own to a village on the Costa Blanca from Benidorm, you can spend as much time as you want at each site or attraction, as you do not have to follow a schedule.
