Step by Step

As night falls, Pamplona reveals a different face: that of a past full of intrigue, conspiracies and ancient pagan rites. On this tour, guided by a narrator-actor, you will enter the narrow streets of the 12th century, where every stone and every building holds tales of forgotten gods and legendary events.

You will start in the area around Pamplona Cathedral, where the shadows bring to life stories of ancient clerics and hidden heresies. From there, you will walk to the Portal de Francia, the royal gateway through which pilgrims and soldiers used to enter, and you will hear chronicles of border battles and mysterious coded messages.

Your guide will then take you to the Monolith to the Kingdom of Navarre, where you will relive the legends of Navarrese kings and heroines. In the Royal and General Archive of Navarre you will discover fragments from the archives of the Inquisition: chronicles of sorcerers, betrayals and trials that shook Europe.

As you enter Calle Barquilleros, the mediaeval atmosphere intensifies: centuries-old façades, hidden corners and street lamps that illuminate tales of merchants, ghosts and forgotten pacts. The Mirador del Caballo Blanco viewpoint also offers night-time views of the city walls and the banks of the Arga, framed by the Pyrenees in the background.

The crowning touch will be the Plaza de San José, illuminated by ancient lanterns, where your storyteller will close the evening with a final tale that intertwines myth and reality. This experience will not only show you the official history, but also the popular myths and laughter hidden among the stones of Pamplona.
