This tourist pass is very easy to use. You must specify the type of card you want (1, 2, 3 or 5 days) and purchase it online. You will immediately receive a QR code on your mobile phone, which you must scan at the ticket office of the attraction you are visiting or when taking one of the best tours of Stockholm included in the pass.

Please note that the pass works like a voucher, so it is subject to a specific credit, i.e. it has a maximum amount of money depending on the number of days. This means you can visit as many attractions as you like until you reach the value of the card.

The pass is activated when you scan it for the first time. For example, when you visit the Viking Museum in Stockholm or take a sightseeing bus tour of Stockholm, it will be activated automatically. From that moment on, the digital card will be valid for 24, 48, 72 or 120 consecutive hours. Unactivated passes are valid for up to two years.

Buying the Stockholm tourist pass is a good idea if you want to visit the city's main attractions without spending a lot of money. Basically, you'll save up to 50% on individual ticket purchases. This card is also ideal if you want to go on boat trips, kayaking activities and other experiences.

For example, a 24-hour pass costs approximately £55 and gives you access to a number of places, such as the Vasa Museum, the Nobel Museum, the Nordic Museum, Stockholm Cathedral, the Fotografiska Museum, the Royal Palace and the tourist bus, among others. But if you spend that £65 on individual tickets, you would only be able to visit about three destinations, for example: the Royal Palace, the tourist bus and the Skansen open-air museum in Stockholm.

Another convenient aspect of these tourist passes is that they are electronic. Therefore, all you have to do is scan the QR code from your mobile phone screen at the ticket office of the attraction. This way, you will avoid inconveniences such as having to exchange currency or worrying that your credit card is not accepted at the place you are visiting.

This tourist pass may not be suitable if you plan to travel to Stockholm between November and March, i.e. during the winter season. During this period, many attractions close or reduce their opening hours due to weather conditions, which could certainly limit your itinerary.

In fact, several boat trips do not operate in winter. This is the case of the boat tour offered by the Stockholm tourist bus, which corresponds to the green route, speedboat excursions and other cruises around the archipelago. In addition, museums such as the Vaxholm Fortress and the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, among others, are closed.

Likewise, until March in Stockholm , you will find many free activities, which could make the tourist card less attractive, as its premise is to allow you to save money on your itinerary. For all these reasons, it is best to take a look at the schedules of the attractions offeredin the Stockholm all-inclusive pass and, depending on your tastes, time, budget and needs, decide if it is right for you.

The Swedish capital has a unique tourist card, better known as the Stockholm Go City all-inclusive pass. As I mentioned, this is an electronic voucher that gives you access to all the attractions and activities you want over a certain period of time.

With this pass, you should bear in mind that, depending on the number of days purchased (1, 2, 3 or 5), you will have a fixed credit with which you can visit the attractions. However, this does not mean that these are different tourist passes, as with any of these options you can access the same museums, monuments, tours, excursions and experiences.

For example, with the 1-day pass you will have a credit of approximately £225, while the 2-day pass has a maximum amount of around £385. The 3-day pass in Stockholm corresponds to around £519 and the credit for the 5-day pass is at least £761.

Tips for getting the most out of your Stockholm tourist card

If you have decided that purchasing a tourist card is the best option for your visit to Stockholm, then you should take into account some basic tips that will help you get the most out of this popular electronic pass.

Don't make spontaneous visits

Stockholm tourist cards are a great way to explore many attractions, but if you make impromptu visits, you will end up wasting time and not taking full advantage of everything this electronic pass has to offer. Therefore, it is important to plan your time in the city, especially if you are only in Stockholm for a short period of 1 or 2 days.

Ideally, before your trip, you should make a short itinerary of the attractions and activities you want to visit during your stay. Then you should organise them according to their location and opening hours. This way, you won't have to rush around looking for each destination.

Use the tourist card mobile app

With the Stockholm All-Inclusive Pass, commonly known as the Stockholm Tourist Card, you will have access to a mobile app that allows you to monitor everything related to your pass.

You will have access to a list of attractions and information about each of the museums, monuments and destinations included in the card. You can also use a city map to find out the distance between each attraction and the fastest routes to get around the city.

Check the opening hours of attractions

Checking the opening hours of the attractions offered by the tourist card is something you can't miss. Depending on the season, you will find destinations that reduce or extend their opening and closing times, which may affect the pace of your itinerary.

For example, if you are in Stockholm in winter and plan to visit the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, it will be closed on Mondays, open on Tuesdays (11:00 to 20:00) and the rest of the week from 11:00 to 17:00. This is different from the summer season, when it is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00.

In addition, you should bear in mind that some activities are closed on Swedish public holidays. You don't want to activate your card on a day when opening hours are limited.
