Qasr Al Hosn traces the dramatic transformation Abu Dhabi has undergone in recent decades. This complex is the city’s oldest surviving structure, built in the 1790s, and served as the residence of the ruling family.

The building also housed the National Consultative Council, founded by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the Emirates. Transformed into a museum in 2018 following a decade of intensive conservation and restoration work, stepping inside Al Hosn Fort is like stepping into a time capsule.

At the Artisans’ House, you can watch live demonstrations of how objects are made using traditional and Bedouin techniques such as talli – a type of silk or cotton embroidery – al sadu, for weaving beautiful, multi-coloured patterns into clothing, and khoos, a method of weaving with palm fronds used primarily to make baskets.

With these passes, you’ll also get a 10 per cent discount when buying souvenirs from the museum shop.
