Whilst wizards are lucky enough to be able to use Floo Powder to get to the Harry Potter Studios Park in a jiffy, us Muggles have to make do with traditional transport.

If you choose to visit the Harry Potter Studios Park on your own, you’ll need to get there by public transport, which means combining at least one Underground, one train and one bus both on the way there and back from the tourist attraction.

Let’s take a look at the route you’ll need to take to find out how to get to the Harry Potter Studios Park by public transport!

1. The Underground to London Euston

The first thing you’ll need to do is take the Underground to London Euston station (Euston Road, London NW1 2BF, England). The London Underground lines that will take you there are the Northern and Victoria lines, the latter being the fastest on the London Underground network, so you won’t be waiting long.

2. The train to Watford Junction

Once at London Euston railway station, you’ll need to catch a train to Watford Junction station (Station Road, Watford, WD17 1EU, Hertfordshire), the closest station to the Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden (Hertfordshire).

Ask the station staff and make sure you board one of the direct trains to Watford Junction, as they are very fast and the journey only takes about 20 minutes. Trains run frequently, departing approximately every 10 minutes, but don’t rely on this and try to arrive at Watford Junction about 45 minutes before the booking time stated on your ticket.

There are also other trains departing from London Euston that are not direct, but they usually take around 1 hour to get there. Given that the direct trains are available to passengers, it is not worth taking one of these.

To travel between London Euston and Watford Junction stations, you can use the Oyster Card, as it is valid for the journey.

3. By bus (Shuttle) to the Harry Potter Studios

Finally, when you arrive at Watford Junction, you’ll need to take a bus operated by Mullany’s Coaches, which will take you to the entrance of the Harry Potter Studios in around 15 minutes.

You’ll find it very easy to spot the bus you need to board as it’s decorated with Harry Potter-themed designs. To use this bus, remember to show your ticket to the Warner Bros. Studios.

These buses run to the Harry Potter Studios Park every 30 minutes, but the timetable varies depending on the day of the week the attraction is open.

  • Monday to Friday: from 9.20 am, when the first tour of the attraction begins at 10 am.
  • At weekends: from 8.15 am, with the first tour of the attraction starting at 9 am.

Shuttle bus tickets cost around £3 per person (return) and can be purchased directly on the bus using contactless payment or cash, but Oyster Cards cannot be used.

Great fun, especially the moment of crossing Platform 9¾ and seeing the Hogwarts Express. Except for some waiting, everything was excellent.

Great experience overall, although the day was a bit cold. It exceeded my expectations to see so many original scenarios.
