Step by Step
This tour to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath from London is for those who want to concentrate the essentials of England in one organised day. You'll depart in the morning from Victoria Coach Station, where the team will be waiting at the welcome desk to direct you to the correct departure gate. You'll board a superior coach with Wi-Fi and USB ports, and begin the day's journey to the West of England, accompanied by a guide who will put each place you visit into context.
The first stop is Windsor, a historic town dominated by its imposing castle, the official residence of the British monarch for more than 900 years. If you choose the ticketed option, you can visit the State Apartments, where you can see all the splendour of the monarchy, and St George's Chapel, where monarchs such as Elizabeth II are buried. On certain days it is also possible to see the famous Changing of the Guard, a display of traditional British protocol.
Afterwards, the route continues to Stonehenge, Europe's most famous prehistoric monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you'll have time to take a closer look at the stone circle, listen to explanations via an interactive map with audio guide (optional), and visit the visitor centre, where theories about its origin and significance are explored in depth. It is one of those places that impresses much more in person than in any photograph.
The last stop of the day is Bath, a city of Roman origin and Georgian architecture that retains an elegant and very characteristic atmosphere. You'll stroll through the streets, see landmarks such as the Abbey and the area around Pulteney Bridge, and visit the Roman Baths to get a close-up look at the site of the UK's only natural hot spring. After your time in Bath, the coach will take you back to London, arriving back in the Victoria area in the late afternoon.
