Step by Step
The Ultimate Explorer Pass opens the doors to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for a whole year, allowing you to explore every corner of this unique site at your leisure. Start your journey at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, where an audio guide in English will show you such fascinating artefacts as the bronze cannon recovered from the wreck of HMS Victory in 1744.
A few steps away, see HMS Victory, Lord Nelson's flagship, currently under scaffolding as part of a conservation project to protect the exterior structure without affecting the interior. Don't miss the Victory Live exhibition to follow the progress of this historic restoration.
Travel back to the 16th century on the Mary Rose, Henry VIII's only surviving ship in the world. Experience a 4D diving experience that recreates her sinking and salvage, and explore models, weaponry and crew's personal belongings.
Discover HMS Warrior 1860, a living monument to the Victorian era, and climb aboard HMS M.33, the last World War I monitor still in operation. At the Submarine Museum, embark on the water bus tour to HMS Alliance, where you'll admire the inside of a Royal Navy submarine.
Pay tribute at the Naval Explosion Museum, which commemorates the fateful incident of 1917, and complete your tour with the Harbour Tours (subject to availability), a leisurely boat ride along the historic dock to view the Dockyard from the water.
With your pass, you can design your perfect day every time: choose your three, four or seven favourite attractions, come back whenever you like and share the adventure with the whole family.
