Step by Step

Immerse yourself in the heart of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument with this half-day tour of the famous Peekaboo and Spooky slot canyons, located in Dry Fork Slot Canyon. Unlike typical tours, here your guide will take care of navigation and safety, allowing you to concentrate on the beautiful surroundings and unique rock formations.

You'll begin with a brief introduction at the Sinclair gas station, where your guide will give you directions to the itinerary and basic equipment. From there, a private vehicle will take you to the canyon access, dropping you off at the starting point for the hike.

The first section will take you to Peekaboo Gulch, famous for its interconnected potholes and water-sculpted arches. For about 45 minutes you will admire the rock swirls and narrow passageways that give the canyon its name, while your guide explains how they were formed millions of years ago.

Next, you'll enter the narrow Spooky Gulch, where the passageway can narrow to as little as 25cm. Only the most daring will make it halfway up before the first ascent - a thrilling challenge to test your agility!

The tour concludes with a section through Dry Fork, walking along the confluence of the two canyons and enjoying the open landscape before returning to the vehicle. Throughout, your guide will share geological stories and cultural facts about the area, making the hike an educational and exciting experience.
