Step by Step
This 2-hour tour invites you to discover the more modern and artistic side of New York, where former industrial spaces have been transformed into cultural and urban icons.
You'll start at Little Island, a floating park on the Hudson River that redefines the concept of public space. Here your guide will explain how the city has constantly reinvented its relationship with the waterfront.
From there, you'll enter the Meatpacking District and the Gansevoort Peninsula, two areas that went from cargo and processing areas to become the epicentre of design, fashion and art. Your guide will tell you how this industrial past gave way to the creation of one of the city's most innovative green spaces: the High Line.
Before heading up to the elevated park, you'll stop at the iconic Chelsea Market, where food history, contemporary design and a vibrant offering of international shops and flavours converge. This place was home to the original Nabisco factory, where the famous Oreo biscuit was born.
Once on the High Line, you will walk through this suspended garden with spectacular views of Manhattan, surrounded by public art, avant-garde architecture and urban greenery. Along the way, your guide will share historical facts, curious anecdotes and neighbourhood secrets.
The tour concludes at Hudson Yards, New York's newest and most futuristic neighbourhood. Here you will see the imposing structure of The Vessel from the outside and pass by The Shed, a cultural space of mobile architecture.
If you chose the ticket-inclusive option, your guide will give you your pass to the Edge, where you can ascend to the highest open-air observatory in the Western Hemisphere and enjoy 360° views of the entire city from 100 stories up.
