Step by Step
Get an early start to the day in San Jose, where your guide will pick you up at the Signia by Hilton. After a brief stop in Livermore, you'll be transported directly to Yosemite's Gateway Arch, passing through the fertile San Joaquin Valley and the historic mining towns of Turlock and Mariposa. Every mile offers a new lesson in geology and the legend of the California Gold Rush.
Arriving in Yosemite Valley, you'll make your first stop at Tunnel View, the iconic panorama that brings together El Capitan, Half Dome and Bridalveil Fall in a single frame. You will then admire Bridalveil Fall from its base and cross the Sentinel Bridge to capture the perfect reflection of Half Dome in the Merced River.
You will have 2 hours of free time to have lunch and explore the base of Yosemite Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in North America. Hike to its viewpoint, take unforgettable pictures and soak in the power of the water before continuing to El Capitan Meadow, where you will learn about the history of the climbers who dare to ascend its vertical walls.
After a last look at Valley View, you'll head into the heart of the redwood forest at Tuolumne Grove, walking along historic walkways beneath thousand-year-old giants. In winter, when the trail is unsafe, you'll enjoy extra time exploring the valley behind the waterfall.
The return trip includes a dinner stop in Oakdale, with a variety of options, before arriving back in San Jose. This concludes a rounded day combining adventure, nature and comfort.
