Step by Step

Take in the grandeur of Yellowstone on a tour that covers both the Upper Loop and the legendary Lamar Valley, where the wildlife is so numerous that it is known as the 'Serengeti of North America'. You'll start in the morning along the Madison River, where your first sightings are likely to be elk, bison and the occasional bear.

Next, you'll ascend the road to Mount Washburn, a prime vantage point for spotting herds of elk and, if you're lucky, grizzly bears. Over a hot cup of coffee or tea, your guide will share fascinating facts about the ecology and history of the park.

After this first part, you will reach the Lamar Valley, the highlight of the day. Here you'll spend at least an hour scanning through your telescope and binoculars for herds of bison, wolves, mountain goats and much more wildlife, all with live explanations from your guide.

After a generous picnic lunch in the wilderness, you'll visit the sculptural terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs, walking along wooden boardwalks in front of colourful thermal formations. Finally, you'll pass through Gibbon Meadows for one last quick glimpse of bison and elk before returning to West Yellowstone.

This tour strikes the perfect balance between wildlife viewing, iconic scenery and comfort, thanks to its air-conditioned vehicle, hot beverages, viewing tools and quality catering.
