Step by Step

This tour to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Oxford from London is for those who want to see the 'essentials' of England in one day, without the hassle of trains and entrance fees. The day starts at Victoria Coach Station, where the tour team will meet you at the welcome desk and direct you to the correct departure gate. From there, you'll depart on a comfortable tour bus for Windsor.

The first stop is Windsor, a historic town of cobbled streets, traditional houses and views of the River Thames. Here you'll find Windsor Castle, the longest continuously occupied castle by the British monarchy. If you choose the option with tickets included, you'll have access to the State Apartments, still used by the Royal Family, and St George's Chapel, the scene of famous royal weddings and the resting place of monarchs such as Elizabeth II and Henry VIII. On some mornings you can also see the Changing of the Guard, the famous changing of the guard.

Afterwards, the route continues to Stonehenge, one of the most famous Neolithic monuments in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you will have time to walk around the stone circle, listen to explanations via an interactive audio-guide (if the option includes it) and peek into the mysteries surrounding its origin. You can also visit the visitor centre, with recreations of Neolithic houses, an immersive 360º projection and an exhibition with more than 250 objects, jewellery, ceramics and even ancient human remains.

To end the day, you'll visit Oxford, known as the 'city of dreaming spires' and home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world. A guide will accompany you on a walking tour through its cobbled streets, where you'll see a mix of buildings from different periods, university colleges and corners that have been used as settings for films and series, including Harry Potter. It's the perfect time to soak up the academic atmosphere, take photos and maybe have a drink on your own before heading back to London.
