Step by Step

Experience high mountain fly fishing in one of America's most iconic national parks. This 10-hour private tour takes you through the Tuolumne and Merced watersheds, home to crystal-clear water and wild trout. Your guide, a local English-speaking expert, will instruct you step-by-step, from casting technique to handling the catch and returning it responsibly.

The day begins with a pick-up at your chosen spot-Yosemite Basecamp or one of three additional spots in the valley-and a short drive to the fishing areas. Throughout the day, you'll stop at Tuolumne Meadows and Tenaya Lake, among other alpine scenery, taking advantage of every hour of daylight to maximize your time on the water.

As you fish, your guide will share information about the park's ecology, trout habits and the best fly-fishing techniques. You'll also enjoy a riverside lunch, with fresh supplies to replenish you for the second half of the day.

This tour is ideal for beginners and experienced anglers alike: the group is private, with personalised attention, and catch-and-release fishing is practised to protect fish stocks. In the evening, you will return to the original meeting point having experienced a day of adventure and nature in its purest form.
