Discover the best of Nikko in one day with this guided tour from Tokyo, perfect for those who want to combine history, nature and Japanese culture. The tour starts from JR Tokyo or Shinjuku station, accompanied by an English-speaking guide and in small groups.
The first stop is the Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy free time (approx. 3 hours) to walk around its decorated pavilions and have lunch on your own. Entrance to the shrine is not included in the price (1600 yen adults).
The tour continues along the Irohazaka mountain road, famous for its scenic curves, until you reach Lake Chuzenji, surrounded by mountains and a serene landscape reflecting the beauty of the Japanese seasons.
From there, you will visit the Kegon Waterfall, a 97-metre drop considered one of the most impressive in the country. Optionally, you can take the lift to the base of the waterfall to admire it up close (not included).
After a full day, you will return to Tokyo with the satisfaction of having explored one of Japan's most iconic destinations in a comfortable and organised way.
