Step by Step

Discover some of Japan’s most important sights on this bullet train tour to Mount Fuji, Hakone and Lake Ashi from Tokyo. This is a comprehensive experience, lasting around eleven and a half hours, during which a professional guide will accompany you throughout the tour.

On this tour, where you can choose whether or not to have lunch, you’ll travel by various modes of transport to reach the different destinations included in the itinerary in comfort. These are:

  • A luxury coach to take you from Tokyo to the fifth station of Mount Fuji, situated some 20 kilometres away.
  • Acruise to sail across Lake Ashi.
  • A cable car to take you to the summit of Mount Komagatake to enjoy views of Hakone National Park and Mount Fuji.
  • A high-speed train, known in Japanese as the ‘Shinkansen’, to travel from Mount Fuji Station back to Tokyo, which can take up to an hour.

During this tour, you’ll visit the Fifth Station of Mount Fuji, one of the most popular starting points and the highest point accessible by vehicle. It is situated at an altitude of 2,305 metres, from where you can see the majestic mountain, Japan’s highest at 3,776 metres. It is considered one of Japan’s most recognisable symbols and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the cruise on Lake Ashi, you’ll see a picturesque landscape, as the lake lies within the caldera of Mount Hakone, an inactive volcano, and is surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests. Hakone National Park is also located there, which you can admire whilst taking the cable car up to the summit of Mount Komagatake.

One of the highlights of this tour is the bullet train journey. The ‘Shinkansen’ connects Japan’s major cities and can reach speeds of up to 320 km/h.
