Step by Step

By joining this tour, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable experience discovering the architectural and natural wonders of Lisbon, with a ticket valid for 48 hours from the time of activation.

You’ll board a comfortable open-top bus, which will take you along two key routes through the Portuguese capital. The tours operate on a hop-on, hop-off basis, meaning you can get on and off at whichever stops you like to explore the city’s most important sights on foot at your own pace.

The Belém tour will allow you to discover historic sites, including:

  • Jerónimos Monastery: this impressive castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the tombs of the explorer Vasco da Gama and the poet Luís de Camões
  • Santa Justa Lift: taking this lift, which connects the Baixa and Chiado neighbourhoods, is one of the must-do experiences when visiting Lisbon
  • Eduardo VII Park: regarded as the city’s most important park, it boasts a beautiful botanical garden and viewpoint, spread across its 25 hectares
  • Monument to the Discoveries: inside the Jerónimos Monastery, you’ll find this epic monument built to honour the legacy of Henry the Navigator

During the ‘Modern Lisbon’ tour – the second route available when you purchase these 48-hour tickets – you can visit places such as the Parque das Nações, an innovative, futuristic-looking neighbourhood, amongst other iconic sites in the city:

  • National Tile Museum: discover Portugal’s history through the art captured in tiles as you explore this unique and special museum, founded in the 16th century
  • Vasco da Gama Bridge: its 17 km span crosses the Algarve Sea to connect Lisbon with the district of Setúbal
  • Lisbon Oceanarium: visit the largest indoor aquarium on the European continent, home to over 15,000 fish belonging to some 450 marine species

For the Belém tour, buses run every 30 minutes, whilst for the Modern Lisbon route, departures are every 60 minutes. The timetable runs from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm.

I highly recommend it, the tour gives a complete overview of the main sights of the city. The first time I went to Lisbon I hadn't done it and I missed so many beautiful places.
