Step by Step

The first part of the tour skirts the rugged coastline of Nazaré, known for its gigantic waves, before heading into the agricultural plain of the west. With adjustable electric assistance, you'll climb hills without overexertion as your guide shares stories about the traditional fishing and Marian legends that link the two towns.

Mid-morning, the group passes through Alcobaça, home to the imposing Cistercian monastery, a World Heritage Site. After a short break to photograph its Gothic façade, you continue along country lanes and back roads flanked by vineyards, where the scent of eucalyptus and pine announces the proximity of the forests that surround Fátima.

On each stretch, the support van remains a few minutes away with tools, first aid kit and light snacks, so you can pedal at your leisure. Before the final climb, your guide offers an optional lunch at a local tasca ( not included) for grilled cod or traditional stone soup.

Upon arrival in Fatima, you will feel the emotion of the pilgrims as you see the white towers of the sanctuary. You will have free time to visit the basilica, light a candle or simply enjoy the spiritual atmosphere. Finally, the support vehicle will load the bicycles and transfer you back to Nazaré (approx. 1 h 15 min by motorway), handing you a diploma commemorating your cycling feat.
