Step by Step

Park Güell is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic works, originally conceived as a residential development that was transformed into a public park brimming with creativity and symbolism.

On entering, you’ll be greeted by the iconic Dragon Staircase, adorned with colourful trencadís mosaics, which will lead you to the Hypostyle Hall, comprising 86 columns supporting a large square. From the Plaza de la Naturaleza, you can enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona whilst marvelling at the winding Trencadís Bench, a masterpiece of ergonomic and artistic design.

The park’s footpaths and viaducts, harmoniously integrated with the natural surroundings, offer a journey full of architectural and scenic surprises.

The Gaudí House Museum, situated within the park, was the architect’s residence from 1906 to 1925. This museum houses a collection of furniture, personal effects and items designed by Gaudí, offering an intimate insight into his daily life and creative process.

The rooms in the house reflect the architect’s unmistakable style, with details that reveal his passion for nature and craftsmanship. Exploring the rooms will give you a better understanding of the evolution of his work and his influence on Modernist architecture.

To enhance your visit, a downloadable audio guide is included, available in several languages, which will provide detailed information on every corner of the park and the house-museum. This tool will allow you to explore both spaces at your own pace, ensuring you don’t miss any important details. The audio guide offers historical context, anecdotes and explanations of the architectural and decorative features you’ll encounter during your tour.

No queues at the entrance, perfect. Gaudí's mosaics are out of this world. I would come back in spring to see it in better light.

Obligatory photo on the curved bench in the park. Digital guide accompanies you well. One "but": some sections are slippery if it rains.
