More about: La Pedrera in Barcelona Tickets and Tours
La Pedrera is the popular name given to Casa Milà, a building in which Gaudí demonstrated his boundless creativity, drawing inspiration from the forms found in nature. Casa Milà is a visual spectacle, both inside and out. Here are the best options for visiting it.
Tickets with audio guide to La Pedrera (no queues)

With this skip-the-line ticket to La Pedrera, you'll get direct access, skipping the ticket office queues, and you'll be able to explore the entire Casa Milà with an audio guide that will tell you all about every corner of the building.
La Pedrera offers you a glimpse into a bourgeois residence from the early 20th century, with elegantly decorated corridors, murals and mosaics in Gaudí's signature style. You can even explore one of the apartments, furnished in a recreation of the typical home of wealthy families of the time.
You can go up to the attic of the building and, in addition to marvelling at the impressive spiral chimneys, you can explore the Espai Gaudí, a museum where you can delve into the mind of the architect and see the plans and models of his most iconic works. After the audio-guided tour, which lasts approximately an hour and a half, you can continue exploring the building on your own.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Recommended: If you want to visit La Pedrera on your own but still have a narration that provides context for what you are seeing.
Tickets to La Pedrera and visit to the terrace at night

The night-time experience at La Pedrera is perfect for an alternative visit to this iconic building, offering you the chance to explore it as you would on a conventional tour but with the added bonus of a light show and projections on the roof terrace that transform the chimneys into surreal objects.
Another advantage of this option is that you get a beautiful view of Barcelona lit up at night, which is a great idea if you are visiting the city in summer and want to avoid the heat of the day for your visit to La Pedrera. At the end of the tour, you will be served a glass of cava to enjoy the views and the building's interior courtyard with a little extra.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Recommended: If you are going to Barcelona in summer or have already visited La Pedrera on another occasion and want to explore it in a different way.
Guided tour of La Pedrera (Early Bird)

Like the other tours, this is a 1.5-hour tour of La Pedrera with the added bonus of allowing you to explore the building first thing in the morning (8:00 a.m.) before the rest of the tourists arrive. In addition, the group for this tour is small, which means that there will be a maximum of 15 other people visiting La Pedrera with you and your guide.
You will see the building's corridors, the reconstruction of the residence, the interior courtyard and the Espai Gaudí, La Pedrera's museum dedicated to the genius of the Catalan architect. After the tour, you can go to the Café de la Pedrera for a coffee or a drink included in the tour.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Recommended: If you are an early riser and want to avoid other tourist groups during your visit to La Pedrera.
Guided tour of La Pedrera and Casa Batlló

Combining two of Barcelona's most important buildings in a single visit makes this half-day guided tour a very interesting experience.
In addition to the complete tour of La Pedrera, where you will visit its residences, corridors, rooftop and courtyard, and the museum dedicated to Gaudí, you will discover another of his emblematic works, Casa Batlló, located in the area known as the Block of Discord, as it is home to buildings by other modernist artists such as the Amatller House by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and the Lleó Morera House, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
Casa Batlló is different from La Pedrera in that it is not a building designed and built by Gaudí, but rather a remodelling of an existing building to which the architect added the façade, modified the interior courtyard and created a rooftop terrace in his unique style. The advantage of this guided tour: you won't have to queue at any of the entrances.
It is worth combining a visit to Casa Batlló and La Pedrera in a single tour to discover Gaudí's architecture in depth and how it became synonymous with the aesthetics of Barcelona.
- Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
- Recommended: If you have already been to Barcelona or if you are going to be in the city for more than a week.

About tickets to La Pedrera

For tourists and architecture and art enthusiasts alike, La Pedrera is Gaudí's masterpiece after the Sagrada Familia, making it a very popular attraction. This means long queues to buy tickets at the ticket office, so as is often the case in these situations, it is best to buy your tickets to La Pedrera in advance. In addition, tickets are €3 more expensive at the ticket office.
Even so, I recommend checking the weather forecast for the day of your visit, as the roof of La Pedrera is closed on rainy days. For this reason, it is best to buy your tickets at least five days in advance. Tickets to La Pedrera are for a specific time, so make sure you plan your day well so that you arrive at the building at the time indicated on your ticket.
If you also plan to visit Casa Batlló, I would recommend buying your tickets or booking your guided tour for after your visit to La Pedrera, as they are very close, about a five-minute walk away.

How to get to La Pedrera
La Pedrera is located at Passeig de Gràcia, 92, in the Eixample district, where there are a number of tourist attractions in the form of modernist buildings. As I mentioned earlier, La Pedrera is located in what is known as the Block of Discord due to its "competition" with other buildings by renowned Catalan architects on the same block.
The nearest metro stop is Diagonal (lines 3 and 5). You can also take the RENFE train and get off at the Passeig de Gràcia stop, or take buses 7, 16, 17, 22, 24 and V17.
La Pedrera opening days and times
La Pedrera is open every day of the year, except for one week a year when it is closed for maintenance, usually during the low tourist season. Depending on the time of year, La Pedrera has different opening hours, which are worth knowing so you can plan your visit better:
- Between 1 March and 4 November: 9 am to 8.30 pm (night visit from 9 pm to 11 pm)
- Between 5 November and 28 February: 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (night visit from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
- Between 26 December and 3 January: 9am to 8.30pm (evening visit from 9pm to 11pm)
Duration of the visit to La Pedrera
To fully enjoy your visit to La Pedrera, I recommend setting aside at least an hour and a half. If the weather is nice, it's also a good idea to stay a little longer on the rooftop, so two hours should be plenty.
Best time of day to visit La Pedrera
I recommend going first thing in the morning, between 9:00 and 10:00, when there are few visitors and you can enjoy the tour much more. Another option is at 4:00 p.m., as you have a couple of hours until 6:00 p.m., when most tourists go to La Pedrera.
Another option is to take a night tour, which, as you know, has many advantages, such as avoiding the heat of the day and the crowds of visitors. With a bit of luck, you may even be able to enjoy live jazz music on the rooftop, which happens on some nights during the year.
Practical information for visiting La Pedrera

Comfortable footwear is almost essential at La Pedrera: there are many stairs to climb and you don't want to reach the rooftop with sore feet and miss out on the wonderful views.
However, there is a lift to the rooftop if for any reason you are unable to climb stairs. My recommendation is that if there is no queue for the lift when you visit, take it to the rooftop and visit La Pedrera by going down to the ground floor.
Although there may be more tourists, from 5.30 pm onwards the light begins to change with the sunset and the photos from the rooftop will be much more beautiful. If you're looking for the perfect moment to capture with your camera, visit La Pedrera after that time.
Where to eat near La Pedrera

Some tours of La Pedrera include a coffee at El Cafè de la Pedrera, which is very close to the iconic building but not the best option for eating. Here are a couple of recommendations:
- El Principal de l'Eixample, a restaurant with a charming interior courtyard and market cuisine featuring typical Catalan dishes with a modern twist. It's not cheap, but rather than paying over the odds in a tourist restaurant, I wouldn't think twice about paying the same price to eat a proper meal at El Principal.
- La Pepita, a place for tapas and sandwiches, but very well presented and prepared, perfect if you don't want to spend so much money on a sit-down meal and prefer to snack and continue exploring Barcelona.
