Step by Step
The tour starts in the morning in Barcelona, departing for Besalú, considered one of the best preserved medieval villages in Catalonia. There you will walk across its Romanesque bridge, cross cobbled streets, visit the area of the old Jewish quarter with its restored mikveh and feel how history can be breathed in every stone.
The tour continues to Rupit, climbing up roads surrounded by nature, until you reach a charming mountain village, where stone houses, a wooden suspension bridge and a historic church make for a picture-postcard setting. You will have free time to have lunch in a local restaurant and stroll around the streets.
Afterwards, you will head towards Tavertet, a place perched on sandstone cliffs with incredible panoramic views over the Sau reservoir and the surrounding forests. The silence, the landscape, the changing light make Tavertet an ideal stop for photography, reflection or simply to contemplate nature.
The return to Barcelona is usually in the late afternoon, with a heart full of images: the Romanesque bridges, the hanging villages, the mountain landscapes and the cliffs. It is a day that combines history, nature and authenticity, designed for those who want to live more than just visit.
