Step by Step
You'll start the day by meeting at the A bus stop on Leeman Road, next to the Memorial Gardens and very close to York railway station. From there, your minibus will take you along scenic roads to the meandering valleys and stone villages of the Yorkshire Dales.
The first stop is the imposing Bolton Castle, where you'll have free time to admire its ramparts and take photographs. Entrance to the castle is not included, but the exterior already offers memorable views.
Next, you'll visit the Aysgarth Waterfalls, a series of rapids and waterfalls that weave their way through green rocks. Here you can stroll along the river and feel the power of the water. Admission is free.
Your next destination is the Wensleydale Creamery, where admission is included and you'll discover how the famous Wensleydale cheese is made. You'll enjoy a tasting and time to shop for artisan products.
The rest of the route takes you through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with multiple stops for photographs and explanations from your guide about geology, sheep farming and rural traditions. Halfway through the day, you'll make a designated stop for lunch on your own at a local pub or cafe.
Finally, you'll make your way back to York, arriving at your original meeting point after a day full of nature, history and local flavour.
