Step by Step
At the start of your day, a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up at your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu or Puerto Iguazu and take you to the heart of the city. On foot, you will stroll along Avenida Brasil, where local cafes and shops bring the city centre to life.
Your first stop will be the Igreja Matriz, Foz's main Catholic cathedral, a magnificent example of neoclassical architecture that has witnessed the transformation of this frontier town.
You will then return to the vehicle to reach the Three Borders Landmark, where three imposing obelisks painted in the national colours of each country mark the confluence of the Paraná and Iguazu rivers. Here, your guide will share the legends and events that have forged the tri-national identity of the region.
You will continue the route in the direction of the Buddhist Temple of Foz do Iguaçu, a haven of peace with panoramic views of the neighbouring cities. There you will learn about the basic teachings of Buddhism and the history of this community in Brazil.
The last visit is to the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, inaugurated in 1983 and the centre of the largest Islamic community in Brazil. Its dome and minarets contrast with the tropical landscape, and a tour of its halls will give you an insight into the cultural diversity of the region before returning to your hotel.
