Step by Step

The Hungarian Jewish Museum and the Dohány Synagogue is one of the most important historical complexes in Budapest and a must-see for an understanding of Hungarian Jewish history. With your priority entrance ticket, you will avoid the queues and gain direct access to the museum, located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter.

Inside the museum you will discover a valuable collection of art and ritual objects. Many of them were saved thanks to the bravery of two employees who, in 1942, hid pieces of incalculable cultural and spiritual value in the basement. Today you can see them in permanent and temporary exhibitions that retrace the Jewish life cycle and the main festivals of this ancient religion.

Admission includes access to the entire complex: the Dohány Synagogue, built in 1859; the Temple of Heroes; the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park; the Holocaust Cemetery; the Righteous Among the Nations Memorial; and the Tree of Life, a moving tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.

In addition, you will have the possibility to join an optional 45-60 minute guided tour to gain an in-depth understanding of the symbolism of the spaces and the role of the Hungarian Jewish community in the 19th and 20th centuries. A cultural and emotional experience that connects past and present in one of the most representative places in Budapest.

We arrived and that was it, no queues. Dense and important museum. The only thing missing was a "silence" sign in more places.

Very emotional visit. Without queues it was more humane. Exhibits well displayed. The garden outside is worth a moment of silence.

Everything went smoothly: digital entrance, no queues and well organised space. I was just surprised that there was no audio guide included.
