Step by Step
The boat departs from the Tropea pier and sails into the Tyrrhenian Sea, skirting towering tufa cliffs where the waves have carved surprises: hidden grottoes that are only revealed from the deck and white sandy beaches accessible only by sea. Upon arrival at the iconic Grotta Azzurra, your guide will explain how the light invades the interior and creates a unique blue glow. There you will be equipped with mask, snorkel and fins before diving in.
During the snorkel, you will discover posidonia gardens that are home to clown fish, gobies, salema and sea urchins gliding among the rocks. The instructor will point out interesting facts about the ecosystem and teach you flotation techniques so that you can effortlessly observe the underwater life. Between dives, the boat approaches nearby islets where you can take a break on deck and enjoy the sea breeze.
Halfway through the trip, you will stop off the islet of Ricadi, where the waters reach different shades of turquoise. Here you can float in the calm, admire soft corals and relax while sipping a cool sip of cold water. Back on deck, the guide shares recommendations for other coastal spots to continue your exploration after the tour.
