Step by Step
The adventure begins as you set sail from the port of Tropea on a comfortable boat with a covered area and sundeck. After skirting the Calabrian cliffs, the first stop is Stromboli, where you can observe the erupting volcano from a safe distance and, if you wish, accompany your guide on an optional night walk (not included) to watch its lava explosions. By day, the boat stops at the black sand beach of Ficogrande, ideal for a first swim in the deep, clear waters.
The next stop is Lipari, the largest of the archipelago. Here you disembark for an hour and a half break: you can stroll through the old town, visit the obsidian workshops or climb up to the castle with its centuries-old walls. The guide recommends a quick tasting of capperi and local wine before returning to the boat, where a light snack of focaccia, olives and fresh water is served to replenish your energy.
After lunch, the route skirts the coast of Vulcano until you reach Fumarola, where the water sparkles hot next to the marine crater. The boat moors on the black sandy beach for you to snorkel among posidonia gardens and colourful fish. For those who prefer to relax, there is time to lie in the sun.
On the way back, the sunset turns the cliffs orange and the waves rock you as your guide shares stories of sailors and Greek myths. You will arrive in Tropea in the evening with the feeling of having explored natural, cultural and geological treasures in a single day.
