Step by Step

Explore Rome’s secret spots by night, on a Vespa. A driver, who will also act as your guide, will take you on a motorbike through medieval neighbourhoods and streets to discover the hidden architectural gems of the ‘Eternal City’.

You’ll visit the most significant and least-known spots in the Italian capital on an exclusive experience just for you and your group, as if you were on a quest for archaeological treasures that bear witness to Rome’s sacred history.

You’ll gain night-time access to the Order of Malta, home to the enigmatic ‘Keyhole’, which, when you peer through it, will offer you one of the most beautiful and mysterious views of the dome of St Peter’s Basilica.

You’ll visit the Basilica of the Four Crowned Saints, an architectural marvel dating from the 4th to 5th centuries AD, which takes its name from a group of Catholic martyrs who refused to worship the god Aesculapius.

You’ll also be able to admire the marvellous Baroque, Gothic and medieval frescoes in the churches of Santo Stefano Rotondo and Santa Cecilia in Trastevere.

As for the monuments of the Roman Empire, you’ll take a night-time Vespa ride along the epic route to the valley of the Circus Maximus, the largest stadium in ancient Rome, where more than 300,000 Romans would gather to place bets on the popular religious games of the time.

At the Protestant Cemetery, you’ll be able to see the epitaphs of prominent figures from Italian and European culture who were not Catholic, such as the philosopher Antonio Gramsci and the English poet John Keats.

You’ll also be treated to another of Rome’s stunning views in the peaceful, leafy Orange Garden, tucked away deep within the Aventine Hill.

And to make your evening Vespa ride even more enjoyable, you’ll have the chance to savour a delicious espresso or some Italian gelato.

I went with my partner, we had to go on different scooters as the tour is individual. We still had a great time, we had a very educational tour with the guides. They both knew a lot! We took amazing pictures at all the stops we made.
