Step by Step
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel lobby in Luang Prabang. After a short drive, you will arrive at Elephant Village Camp, where your guide will welcome you and share an introductory presentation about the lives of these majestic animals and the principles of their ethical care.
The first activity is elephant feeding, a magical moment to get up close and personal with their feeding habits. Next, you will explore the camp: you will visit the elephant hospital, the museum, the photo gallery and even the dung paper making area, an example of the circular economy that drives the project.
The highlight is the mahout experience, where you will learn to communicate with your elephant using basic commands, strengthening the bond and understanding the mutual respect necessary for respectful training. All this under the supervision of expert handlers.
You will then board a long traditional Lao boat for the transfer to Tad Sae Waterfall, an idyllic spot where you will have free time to swim or just relax by the crystal clear waters (bring your swimming costume). This trip is part of a conservation project to protect the natural habitat.
Finally, you will return to the Shangri Lao Restaurant for a local style buffet with vegetarian options, coffee, tea and water. After lunch, you will return to Luang Prabang, arriving back at your hotel around 1:00 PM.
